N-Trak Express Club Cars

By Robert Hesselgrave

Less than a year after formation, we decided that making Christmas Cars would be an excellent way to build our budget. I brought a Roundhouse 50’ tank car to a meeting that I had decorated with red and green stripes to see what the club thought. We had Microscale make us some custom decals, and everyone promised they would help. Turns out decaling is not a skill everyone has, and each car had 17 separate decals to apply. Needless to say, we turned to Micro-Trains the following year, with great success (Thanks, Eric!), and also had cars printed by DeLuxe (Thanks, George!) and Atlas (Thanks Paul!). These really enhanced our budget, and we spent the funds on a trailer, a 20’ toy hauler. I did the artwork from 1997 through 2002, after which LeRoy Bainbridge supplied the artwork for the cars.
